IN THE BEGINNING: BIG BRAND BANG
As many of you will know our 3D enterprise really started out as a test project mainly focussed around emerging AI technologies, and has over the last 12 months or so grown way beyond my initial expectations.
The original experiment was to see how many different AI engines I could use in the creation of a project, in this instance I decided the project would be a 3D conversion as opposed to shooting a new 3D film where the technology could equally have been used throughout the process.
So having decided on this I thought the obvious option for branding would involve AI at the heart of the brand so came up with AIPOP-3D, this equally being a play on the phrase "eye popping 3D" which I'd read numerous times over the years.
OUR EVOLUTION
What I hadn't foreseen was the antipathy towards AI nor the fact that as we evolved the focus would move from these AI driven tools to our own system and processes purely focussed on creating as high quality 3D conversions as we could produce.
This change meant that the reality was we only used an AI tool at the beginning of a conversion for maybe a day or two, then we spent months tweaking the conversion shot by shot, often involving basically the same methods that Hollywood Studios would use in a 2D to 3D conversion.
It was with these realisations that we decided it was time to rebrand and to explore our core values which revolved not around AI but around delivering good quality 3D on a budget.
WELCOME EYEPOP-3D
I'm now really proud to present not just our new branding, but our full new identity as we are now EYEPOP-3D!
Many users may have not realised but our original intention was that the "ai" should be pronounced "eye", so the brand name should be pronounced "EYE-POP-3D". Well we've resolved it and we are now EYEPOP-3D.
This branding equally explains better what we do, as opposed to having the AI large on the central cube we now have 3D - as it should always have been. 3D - it's what we do!
I believe this new branding is slicker and more relevant to our product and our focus - let's face it a group of 3D enthusiasts don't really have any actual interest in AI beyond what it can do as a tool to help us convert films! And that's hopefully now more obvious.
Although AI will still be involved, after all this couldn't be achieved without the amazing depth analysis tools that AI offers, but this isn't the core of what we do - we produce independent 3D conversions and put simply: WE LOVE STEREOSCOPIC 3D! (Now there's an idea for a T-Shirt. ;)

This will take a little while to roll out over our various sites and social media channels but I hope you'll be as enthusiastic as we are for our new branding and will help us to spread the word.
PS - I'm not sure I'll ever be able to totally eradicate the "AI" portion of our former name but I'll do my best!
